ST BERNARD (WXIX) - Cincinnati police are investigating after an 82-year-old woman was shot three times in a drive-by on Interstate 74, according to St. Bernard police.

They learned of the shooting just before 10 a.m. Sunday, Lt. Bill Ungruhe tells FOX19 NOW.

That’s when the woman tells police she pulled her car into the 4200 block of Dartmouth Drive in St. Bernard, and officers were called to a report that someone was shot.

St. Bernard police found the victim in a residential driveway. She was suffering from three gunshot wounds, in both legs and in her left arm, according to Lt. Ungruhe.

He said she told police she was driving eastbound on I-74 to I-75 when she was shot, and that she drove to her daughter’s home on Dartmouth Drive for help.

Four shots were fired into her car and police recovered three “slugs,” according to Lt. Ungruhe.

The woman did not have a description of the person who fired at her car, he added.

St. Bernard fire crews transported the woman to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to Lt. Ungruhe.

At last check on Sunday, he said she was alert and in good condition.

The Cincinnati Police Department is now the lead agency on the case.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040, or District 3 police at 513-569-8500.
